Schwinn Tandem owned by Schwinn CEO Ed Schwinn. This tandem, captained from behind, and including a child seat between captain and stoker, sold for $107,000 during the auction of the Schwinn Bicycle Collection at Sotheby's in Chicago. This tandem anchors the collection of Mr. Dicke of Crown Equipment who created his Bicycle Museum of America from the Schwinn collection. OBF Chair Chuck Smith occupies the captain's position, while Treasurer Pat Squire is the stoker. (September 11, 2004.)

Chuck Smith, Governor Taft, and 97-year-old Dayton Cycling Club Co-Founder, Clair Duckham, as the three prepare to start a 22-mile ride from Dayton to Troy to celebrate Duckham's birthday. Governor Taft is grasping Duckham's Bianchi. The Governor rode a huge Cannondale mountain bike, prompting Smith to suggest he ride a lighter bike on TOSRV the next weekend.
