Ohio Bicycle Federation awarded grants from our Share the Road license plate fund to 4 organizations:

  • St. Henry Catholic Church will receive $100 for Open Street Days in 6 communities in Mercer County. 7 historic churches will open their doors for architecture tours and offer hospitality for participants. Safe cycling cue sheets and passports will provide safety and group touring etiquette to cyclists.
  • Gahanna Bicycle and Trail Advisory Committee will receive $200 to purchase helmets to be distributed with the bicycles that they refurbish to be donated to the Gahanna Residents In Need organization. These bikes are unclaimed abandoned bicycles from the Gahanna Police Department.
  • Columbus Outdoor Pursuits will receive $875 to purchase a public tool kiosk to be placed in Merion Village, Columbus, near their office and to fund an education program on maintenance to be provided by Franklinton Cycleworks. This maintenance kiosk will also benefit users of the mountain bike course that will be built near the COP office on the south side of Columbus.
  • Bike Miami Valley will receive $1200 to purchase and distribute the LAB Quick Guides to cyclists in southwest Ohio. These guides will increase confidence for cyclists by instructing them on bike laws and where to ride. Congratulations to all these organizations and thank you for your work to educate and encourage cyclists in your communities
